Understanding the plight rescuers and volunteers face as the forefront of the disaster, a group of 30 Bank Islam staffs visited Pasir Gudang on 15 March 2019 to offer a brief respite to them in the form of energy drinks and facial masks

The incident gained a worldwide attention on how an irresponsible act of a certain quarters notoriously affected more than 3,000 people who inhaled toxic fumes, resulted from the dumping of chemical waste into a river, to seek medical attention and all 111 schools in Pasir Gudang area ordered to close
