Projek Bantuan Rumah is essential seeing as a home is a basic need for everyone. We hope that the newly built and rehabilitated houses will lessen their burden, uplift their spirits and help them carry on with their lives in peace and comfort.
The epidemic of homelessness coupled with rising property prices exemplifies how tough it is for those suffering from extreme poverty to own a home, which is a basic need of every human being. To assist in providing a comfortable home for these marginalized families, we have initiated the ‘Projek Bantuan Rumah’ (Housing Aid Project), which has been ongoing since 2008.
Through this flagship project, 184 impoverished families from across the country have benefited where more than RM4.7 million has been contributed towards the building and reparation of houses.
Moving forward, we have started to use the Fast-Track Wall (FTW) system which enables faster construction of houses and at a much lower cost. The FTW method, carried out last year in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Skudai, enabled us to build six houses in Johor. Meanwhile, a total of 16 houses were rehabilitated in the state, namely in Batu Pahat, Segamat, Muar, Gelang Patah, Mersing, Pontian and Kota Tinggi. Additionally, in Kelantan, RM100,000 had been contributed towards the rehabilitation of 10 houses in the same year.
